Leanne & Dave
There are several rules when it come to marryoke. Firstly, know the song. It sound simple but i’ve lost count the amount of times I have arrived ‘on set’ only to find that guests weren’t not told about what we were doing, the song was too obscure or people only ‘think’ they know the song when in fact they only knew the chorus.
With that in mind I was pleasantly surprised to arrive at the rather stunning venue of Rushton Hall for Leanne and Dave’s wedding to find a highly organised Bride and guests who couldn’t wait to get started on the filming.
Choosing a good classic song that will be popular with most people is also key, in fact it is the first rule of what I affectionately refer to as ‘Marryoke Club’. Luckily Leanne had chosen an absolute stonker of a song and a personal favourite of mine, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ by rock legends, Queen.
Shooting late into the January night with the somewhat tipsy guests i realised that the combination of alcohol, a portable greenscreen studio and my Freddie Mercury costume brought out the extrovert in a lot of the guests and provided me with some excellent shots to round off a superb day of filming.
